Isabela State Universityโ€“Ilagan Campus has begun integrating โ€œCollegeBound,โ€ a web-based system, into its admission process for incoming freshmen and transferees, marking a shift toward a more streamlined and technology-driven approach.

Designed as both a pre-admission platform and a computerized examination system, CollegeBound was initially tested before being directly utilized during scheduled admission tests. Its immediate use allowed incoming freshmen to experience a more structured and systematized process, from registration to the actual examination.

The project was developed by Mico Balmaceda, fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Information Technology student, and Judy Jay Pascua, a staff member from the Management Information System (MIS), under Dr. Angelo Gamara, MIS director, in collaboration with the Guidance Counseling Center headed by Dr. Kathreen Joson, with the support of Campus Executive Officer Dr. Alfonso Ramos Simon.

By reducing manual procedures and centralizing key admission steps into a single platform, the system offers a more organized flow that supports both administrators and applicants. The transition also reflects the changing demands of academic institutions to adopt more efficient and accessible digital solutions.

As the university continues to pursue its Smart University vision, the integration of systems like CollegeBound highlights its commitment to improving student-facing services and modernizing core academic processes.
