ISU Honors Excellence and Dedicated Service During 48th Founding Anniversary Celebration

City of Ilagan, Isabela — Isabela State University (ISU) recognized the outstanding achievements and dedicated service of its faculty members, non-teaching personnel, retirees, alumni, and researchers during the Araw ng Parangal held as part of the University’s 48th Founding Anniversary celebration.

The event gathered university officials, employees, alumni, and stakeholders in honoring individuals whose contributions have significantly advanced the institution’s mission of excellence in instruction, research, extension, innovation, and public service.

The program commenced with the opening ceremonies, followed by anniversary messages from university leaders, including Cluster Executive Officer Prof. Engr. Alfonso R. Simon, Ph.D.; Vice President for Planning and Development and Founding Anniversary Director-General Prof. Isagani P. Angeles, Ph.D.; and SUC President IV Prof. Boyet L. Batang, Ph.D.

A highlight of the celebration was the conferment of awards recognizing exemplary performance and commitment among members of the ISU community. Awards were presented to Loyalty Awardees, Retirees, Outstanding Alumni, Outstanding Faculty, Outstanding Faculty Extensionist, Outstanding Faculty Researcher, Outstanding Non-Academic Staff, and recipients of various research and special recognition awards.

Among the major awardees were Geralyn G. Gangan, MMCMDR, who received the Most Outstanding Alumni Award; David P. Pascua Jr, recognized as Most Outstanding Faculty,Helen T. Asio as Most Outstanding Faculty Extensionist, and Orfel L. Bejarin, named Most Outstanding Faculty Researcher; and Clarisa E. Bunuan, who received the Most Outstanding Non-Academic Staff Award.

The celebration also honored employees who demonstrated long years of faithful service to the University and retirees whose dedication contributed to the institution’s continued growth and development.

In her Message of Gratitude, Most Outstanding Alumni awardee Geralyn G. Gangan expressed appreciation to the University for its role in shaping competent and service-oriented graduates. Meanwhile, Faculty Association President Dr. Jhoan V. Paguirigan, in her closing remarks, emphasized the importance of sustaining a culture of excellence, integrity, and collaboration within the University community.

As ISU marks its 48th year of service, the Araw ng Parangal served as a reminder of the collective efforts and individual achievements that continue to strengthen the University’s legacy and commitment to nation-building.
