Architecture Department Holds 2nd AutoCAD and SketchUp Training for Isabela National Senior High School
The Architecture Department, in collaboration with its fifth-year students, successfully conducted the second AutoCAD and SketchUp Training for Senior High School students of Isabela National Senior High School on December 16, 2025, in the City of Ilagan, Isabela.
The extension activity was initiated by Ar./EnP. Geraldine J. Paguigan as part of the Architecture Program’s continuing extension initiatives aimed at enhancing technical drafting and basic 3D modeling competencies among senior high learners. Fifth-year architecture students actively assisted the participants by providing close guidance throughout the hands-on workshop, fostering an interactive and supportive learning environment.
The training introduced participants to the fundamentals of AutoCAD for basic technical drafting and SketchUp for simple three-dimensional visualization. Lectures and demonstrations were facilitated by Ar. Bagnos A. Quebral Jr. for SketchUp and Ar. Wilnah A. Ramos for AutoCAD. Through guided exercises and practical demonstrations, students became familiar with essential tools, commands, and workflows commonly applied in architectural practice.
Beyond technical skill development, the activity strengthened collaboration between the Architecture Program and secondary education institutions, while also allowing architecture students to develop leadership, mentorship, and instructional skills. Participants expressed their appreciation for the practical learning experience, noting that it increased their interest in design, technology, and built environment–related fields.
The successful second conduct of the training highlights the Architecture Department’s commitment to sustained community engagement and capacity-building through skills-based extension activities. The activity was graced by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology, Dr. Crestian A. Agustin, and the Chairperson of the Architecture Department, Ar. Blesie Joy M. Laguna.
