ISU-Ilagan Soars as Nation’s Top 6 Civil Engineering School in the November 2025 CELE

The Isabela State University – Ilagan Campus has cemented its status as a premier civil engineering education hub in the country after achieving an impressive overall rating of 65.00% with its first takers garnering 78.69% in the 2025 Civil Engineers Licensure Examination (CELE). The campus netted the sixth spot in the country for schools with more than 50 takers, rightfully reigned as Region 2 Top Performing School.

The formidable performance is more than double of the national passing rate of 30.39%, igniting a celebration across the campus, and underscoring a sustained culture of excellence within the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology. This recognition is a result of a rigorous academic curriculum, cutting-edge laboratory training, and the unparalleled dedication of the Civil Engineering Department.

“This dual accolade of being the Top 1 in our region and Top 6 in the entire Philippines is a powerful validation of the #TatakISU brand of education,” said Dr. Crestian A. Agustin, Dean of the CEAT. “It reflects our unwavering commitment to producing not just exam passers, but future-ready, globally competitive engineers. Our heartfelt congratulations go to our 69 new engineers, whose hard work is now etched in the university’s history.”

The university administration also highlighted the collaborative effort behind this success. “This is a victory for the entire ISU-Ilagan community—our brilliant students, our devoted faculty who mentor beyond classrooms, and our supportive staff,” added Dr. Alfonso R. Simon, Cluster Executive Officer. “Setting the standard of excellence in Region 2 is our mission; ranking among the best in the Philippines is our proud reality.”

The new engineers are now poised to join the ranks of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE), as ISU-Ilagan’s strengthens its strategic role in advancing Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and building a technical workforce for global and national infrastructure development.
