Industrial Technology Holds 2024 OJT Pinning Ceremony

The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (BSINDTECH) Program at the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology of ISU-Ilagan Campus held its annual OJT Pinning Ceremony on August 30, 2024, at the ISU-Ilagan CEAT AVR.

A total of ninety-seven (97) fourth year BSINDTECH students, accompanied by their parents and guardians, participated in this year’s ceremony, themed “Reshaping the Future of Industrial Technologists through Internship.” This year’s Guest of Honor and Speaker, Ms. Jonalyn Pabroa, an alumna of ISU-Ilagan and a Drafting Technology major, was introduced by Department Chairperson Prof. Jomel Angangan. In her address, Ms. Pabroa shared personal stories, humor, and advice to motivate the trainees, encouraging them to become effective and successful interns. Currently, Ms. Pabroa is a Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT) working as a Senior Draftsman and AutoCAD operator at the Office of the Provincial Engineer-Isabela.

Also present at the event were ISU-Ilagan Executive Officer Engr. Alfonso Simon and College Dean Engr. Crestian Agustin, who shared words of encouragement and highlighted the essence of the OJT program. Both speakers emphasized that internships are a critical step in gaining practical skills essential for success in a real or close-to-real working environment. “As incoming trainees or interns, practice diligence in your training, and be open to learning new techniques and skills relevant to your field,” they advised.

Profs. Roselyn Manabat and Jomar Cristobal served as Masters of Ceremony. The event concluded with a luncheon for attendees.
