The ISABELA STATE UNIVERSITY-CITY OF ILAGAN BIRTHING CENTER, the first and the only birthing center in the province managed and operated by a State University and College (SUC) is now open to the general public after its Blessing and Inauguration on September 5, 2023!

The ISU-Ilagan Birthing Center Facility envisions itself as a leading institution of excellence that will provide services for maternal and child care such as prenatal, delivery, postnatal, immunization, family planning, newborn screening, and breastfeeding counseling. This state-of-the-art facility with a 5-bed capacity is well-equipped with modern and cutting-edge equipment and ready to cater to walk-in and referral clients in the province of Isabela.

The ISU-Ilagan Birthing Center is a PhilHealth-accredited facility to offer MINIMAL, FREE OR ZERO-BILLING maternal and child healthcare services. The facility will be OPEN 24/7, from Mondays to Sundays, and will be manned by well trained faculty and staff members of the School of Midwifery, headed by the Birthing Manager, the Dean of The School Of Midwifery, Associate Professor Rebecca S. Dela Cruz.

The Blessing and Inauguration of the ISU-Ilagan Birthing Center was attended by SP Lilian Q. Bringas, partner OB-Gyne of the Birthing Center and representing the Hon. City Mayor Josemarie L. Diaz, VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Boyet L. Batang, representing University President Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino, Engr. Alfonso R. Simon, Executive officer of ISU-Ilagan, Dr. Winston Eduarte, partner Pediatrician of the Birthing Center, Calamagui 2nd Brgy Capt. Hon Howard Pagalilauan and barangay officials, Ms. Maria Cristina R. Simon, City Tourism Officer and staff from the CTO, representatives from the Provincial Health Office, Deans, Directors, Program Chairs and students of ISU-Ilagan. The blessing of the facility was led by Rev. Fr. Larry Sucuano of the St. Ferdinand Parish.
