Isabela State University – Ilagan Campus Meets SDG 5
In an academic context, a child-minding room is essential for providing assistance to faculty and staff—especially those who have young children. Working parents find great relief in having an on-campus facility where their children may be safely monitored, as juggling work and home obligations can be difficult at times.
Above all, a child-minding room frees faculty, staff members and students as well from having to worry about their children’s urgent needs so they may concentrate on their work and studies. Because they know their kids are in a stimulating and safe environment, parents are able to work in a more productive atmosphere. When they need to give their full concentration to meetings, lectures, or other events, this support is quite helpful.
Additionally, having a space for childcare fosters a stronger sense of community on campus.
At the ISU-Ilagan Birthing Center, Isabela State University has its own specialized child-minding area where kids can play, study, and interact safely under the watchful eyes of birthing personnel for admitted patients as well as faculty and staff from the University.
