ISU-Ilagan Birthing Center officially opens to public

The Isabela State University – City of Ilagan Campus (ISU-I) Birthing Center has officially opened after its Blessing and Inauguration at the campus compound on September 05.
The birthing center is a 24-hour operating facility that will be open from Mondays to Sundays to the general public.
The said center was accredited by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) offering minimal, free or zero-billing maternal and healthcare services.
Cluster Executive Officer Alfonso R. Simon underscored during his welcome remarks that the launching of the birthing center will serve as a symbol of progress where it embodies the commitment of the university in delivering accessible and high-quality healthcare services.
Simon added that through the facility, the midwifery, nursing, and other healthcare-related programs shall receive a unique opportunity for related learning experiences and hands-on training.
Moreover, he said that the facility gained impressive feedback from the Department of Health (DOH) and PhilHealth personnel during their visitation.
According to the findings of PhilHealth, the birthing center recorded a ‘no deficiency’ result making it eligible to receive its license to operate by the DOH.
Vice President for Academic Affairs Boyet L. Batang on the other hand, commended the campus for its continued effort of providing quality and excellence in the university.
This was after the Bachelor of Science in Midwifery recorded an excellent performance in the national board examinations in the previous years
“It’s already printed in the blueprint of higher education institutions that the performance of the BS Midwifery program of ISU Ilagan is very commendable,” he said.
City Councilor Lilian Q. Bringas, Dr. Winston Eduarte, Calamagui 2nd Barangay Captain Howard Pagalilauan, City Tourism Officer Maria Cristina R. Simon, representatives from the Provincial Health Office, deans, directors, and program chairs were also present during the program.
